Veterans Rowing & Kayaking

The Given Limb is pleased to support the efforts of a non-profit organization, Veterans’ Rowing and Kayaking. This organization, which is based in West Haven, CT and Holyoke, Mass, provides rowing and kayaking programs for disabled veterans. The program has grown tremendously in a short time, and it has had tremendous success in helping improve the lives of the disabled veterans who have participated. Many of these veterans suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), severe depression and other health issues. Several are also amputees.

GLF provided a grant to Veterans’ Rowing and Kayaking for the development of an amputee/adaptive rowing program. Our grant allowed the organization to purchase adaptive kayaks and it also supported other operating costs of the program.

The Veterans’ Rowing and Kayaking program is supported by many talented volunteers who have excelled in their sports of kayaking and rowing, and are dedicated to improving the lives of our disabled veterans. Given Limb has been proud to support this valuable program.
