marc owens photo w truckA NEW TRUCK REQUIRED ADAPTATION TO  KEEP AN ACTIVE VETERAN ON THE MOVE

Marc was a member of the US Army Parachute Team—The Golden Knights—and then a coach of the parachute team at West Point.  After serving a tour of duty in Afghanistan, Marc lost both legs in a training accident.  Given Limb helped adapt Marc’s new Dodge Ram 1500 truck with hand controls. DRIVING INDEPENDENCE FOR A TRIPLE-AMPUTEE VETERAN

Christopher lost both arms and his left leg while serving in Afghanistan.  The Walter Reed Driving Rehabilitation program helped Christopher learn to drive using adaptive devices and the Given Limb helped Christopher to purchase an equipped van of his own. Read more

Ana was unable to drive after a post-service amputation of her lower right leg.  Given Limb provided an adaptation for her vehicle to allow her to drive with her left foot. Read more

HELPING YOUNG RUNNER TRAIN FOR GOLD

GLF provided a grant to help Desmond Jackson, a 15-year old runner and left leg amputee, to prepare for competitions throughout summer 2015.  Read more

In 2014, GLF collaborated with USA Triathlon to establish the first paratriathlon training program at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In 2015, we are working with USA Tri to build a similar program at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. Read more

GLF provided a grant to Veterans’ Rowing and Kayaking, a non-profit organization which serves disabled military veterans, for the creation of a kayaking program for amputees.

We are proud to announce that once again GLF will fund a scholarship for a child to attend the Amputee Coalition of America’s Paddy Rossbach Youth Camp for children with limb differences, through the Sean M. Cumings Memorial Scholarship. Read more
